my story

Hi, I'm Sami, and I'm so glad you're here.

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that wellness isn't a destination—it's something we continually rediscover through every season of life.

My journey started long before Solstice Wellness Co. From being the kid who reached for fruit instead of birthday cake, to playing sports, studying kinesiology, and working as a personal trainer, health and movement were always a part of who I was.

Eventually, I pursued a career in law enforcement—a profession I loved. But after sustaining a career-ending injury on the job, everything changed.

Almost overnight, I went from feeling strong, healthy and capable to struggling with everyday tasks and feeling completely out of balance. I knew that one day I wanted to become a mother, and I realized that if I wanted to build the life I envisioned, I first had to rebuild my health in all aspects.

That season led me back to myself.

A woman sitting by a river with a waterfall in the background on a cloudy day, smiling and looking at the camera.

I began using Pilates as part of my rehabilitation, sought out a hormone specialist to recalibrate and feel more balanced, and slowly started redefining what overall health and strength felt like. I wasn't chasing who I used to be—I was learning to become someone new.

It was my season of growth—my own version of a solstice.

Little by little, I regained confidence in my body. I went from struggling to lift a cast iron skillet out of the kitchen cabinet to returning to exercise, lifting weights again, and eventually experiencing pregnancy and postpartum with a foundation of strength I had worked so hard to build.

Those experiences changed the way I view health forever.

Today, I believe wellness is about so much more than workouts or nutrition plans. It's about building a body that supports the life you want to live. It's about feeling strong enough to pick up your children, confident enough to try something new, resilient enough to navigate life's challenges, and giving yourself permission to slow down and care for yourself along the way. I don't believe wellness should feel intimidating or exclusive. I believe it should feel approachable, sustainable, and something you can carry with you for the rest of your life.

That's why I created Solstice Wellness Collective.

My hope is to create a welcoming community where women feel supported through every season of life—whether you're rebuilding after an injury, returning to movement after having a baby, discovering Pilates for the first time, or simply looking for a place to move, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

I'm honored you're here, and I can't wait to be part of your journey.
